Growing up in the Catholic Church, I was taught that going to mass, praying the rosary and being a good person was all I needed to get saved and go to Heaven…..until I found Jesus Christ.

The Catholic doctrine requires you to regularly go to confession. You must go to a priest and tell him all your sins. Then, he gives you a penance (usually prayer or a good deed) and forgives your sins.

This. Is. Wrong.

A priest cannot forgive your sins.

Honestly, I should have known this wasn’t true. We studied the Bible during religion class at school. We had a Bible at home — although I chose not to read it as I always found something ‘more interesting’ to do.

The only one that can forgive your sins is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the one that was crucified and died for the world’s sins. Jesus is the only one that can save your soul from eternal separation from God. The Bible has numerous references about this:

Hebrews 10:10-14

10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

1 Timothy 2:5-6

5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

1 John 2:1-2

1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

When I found the truth — that Jesus is the only way to salvation. I dug deeper into the Bible and understood that the doctrine I had been taught was flawed. If we do not accept Jesus into our lives, if we do not accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we will not receive forgiveness for our sins. Those who are not forgiven of their sins are not heaven-ready and will ultimately go to hell. You may be a ‘good person’ by society’s standards, feed the needy, donate to good causes, etc…but works do not get you into heaven, Jesus does.

The world is quickly ending. We have entered the end times and the Lord is calling out to anyone that is willing to hear. In these tumultuous times, people are more preoccupied with daily living as opposed to what comes after this life ends. Others have been deceived by whatever religious doctrine they have been taught and believe they are heaven-bound. This is why I decided to build this website: For the salvation of souls. I hope that my blog helps you find eternal life in Jesus Christ.

Mathew 9: 37-38 37 Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
